Evolution Mentor Capital / Get involved
Put what you know
to good use.
Time, knowledge and useful resources can make a difference close to home. Start with a real need, a clear commitment and the people who understand the community.
The Evolution Mentor mission begins with a belief in participation. You do not need to have every answer to offer something useful. You do need to listen, understand the role and be realistic about what you can give.
Share your experience through mentorship.
Consider the skills you can explain clearly and the time you can offer consistently. A local youth-serving organisation can help you understand its mentoring roles, screening process, training and expectations.
Work through that organisation’s safeguarding arrangements. Agree on boundaries and responsibilities before beginning. Reliable support is more valuable than an ambitious commitment that is difficult to keep.

Ask a school, library or community organisation what resources it actually needs. Check the requested subjects, age ranges, languages, formats and condition before gathering materials.
School supplies and educational resources are most useful when they match a specific request. Confirm how the organisation accepts contributions and whether it has the space and staff to handle them.
Explore our guide to removing learning barriers ↗Offer a practical skill.
Think about something you use regularly: writing a résumé, preparing for an interview, organising a project or understanding a digital tool. Ask a community organisation whether that skill fits an existing need.
Keep an offer specific. Explain what you can help with, the time involved and any materials required. Let the organisation decide whether it is a useful fit.
Begin with these questions.
- What does the organisation say it needs?
- What can I contribute reliably?
- What training, screening or supervision is required?
- How will personal information and boundaries be protected?
- Who should I speak with before making a commitment?
These are practical ways to support the purpose behind Evolution Mentor Capital: more access to guidance, learning and community. Arrange participation directly with the organisation providing the opportunity.
